Paver Patio Installation
Paver patios engineered for Minnesota freeze-thaw — built on a base that lasts.
Overview
What's included
A paver patio is only as good as what's under it, and in Minnesota that means the base does the real work.
We excavate 8–12 inches below finished grade, lay woven geotextile to keep subsoil from pumping up into the aggregate, then build the base with Class 5 placed in 2-inch lifts and plate-compacted at every lift — not just once at the top. Pavers are set on a screeded inch of bedding sand, cut on a wet saw for tight, clean edges, locked with concrete edge restraint, and finished with water-activated polymeric sand.
Grade is pitched a consistent 1–2% away from the house so meltwater leaves instead of pooling and refreezing. We work primarily with Belgard, Borgert, and Anchor products, all freeze-thaw rated for this climate, and we bring physical samples to your property so you're choosing colors in your own light instead of under showroom fluorescents.
