Seasonal vs Per-Push Snow Removal Contracts in Minnesota — Which Costs Less?

Seasonal contracts
You pay one flat price for the season, usually billed in monthly installments from November through March, and we service every event that hits the trigger depth.
Budget certainty is the point. In a heavy winter you win outright; in a light winter you paid for insurance you didn't fully use. Commercial properties almost always choose seasonal because it's a predictable line item.
Per-push contracts
You pay per visit, typically once snowfall passes a two-inch trigger. Light winters are cheaper. Heavy winters cost significantly more than a seasonal agreement would have.
Per-push works for smaller residential drives and owners comfortable with variable monthly billing.
Trigger depths and what they mean
A two-inch trigger is standard residential. Commercial and medical properties often run a one-inch trigger, or zero tolerance where the lot must stay clear regardless of accumulation.
Confirm whether the trigger is per event or per accumulation. In a multi-day storm the difference is several visits.
Ice management is a separate line
Plowing moves snow. It doesn't handle the melt-refreeze cycle that causes most Minnesota slip-and-fall claims. Salt and treated products are billed by application or per ton.
